How to promote your Roblox game on TikTok
Updated 5 November 2026 · By ClipClip
The short answer
Post short clips of real moments from your game, not trailers: a steal, a fail, a rare find, a scare. Put your game's exact name on screen and say it, since viewers search for it. Post often, because clips at a few hundred views bring next to no one. And fix your game's first minutes first: Roblox's Home keeps showing a game only to the players who stay.
What travels on TikTok
Moments travel, trailers don't: a funny loss, someone's reaction, a rare drop, a trade, a secret, a jump-scare. Brainrot and meme games, fashion and roleplay, horror and trading games travel best; obbies and tycoons least.
The first second decides who stays. We studied 14 popular Roblox Shorts and TikToks frame by frame (October 2026):
- 11 of the 14 move 2 to 5 times more in their first second than in the rest of the clip: they open mid-action.
- Something happens by 0.3 to 0.8 seconds.
- 7 of the 8 with a voice start talking within 0.3 seconds.
The sound is usually the clip's own. On 19 October 2026, all 30 of the most-viewed #robloxgames TikToks used an original sound rather than a song from TikTok's library.
Turn views into players
- Show and say the exact name. Viewers search for it on Roblox. And through Creator Rewards' Audience Expansion, Roblox pays you a share of what new or returning Roblox users spend in their first 60 days when they arrive by your game's link or a search for its name (for games with 100 or more daily users).
- Put a share link in your bio. Make one in the Creator Dashboard for TikTok, one per creator: each reports its visits, so you see which brings players who stay. Everything else from outside Roblox lands under "Other" in your analytics.
- Know who can join. A new game is open only to age-checked players 16 and over until 250 highly engaged players have played it and you've passed Roblox's checks: the steps are in how to make your Roblox game all ages.
- Keep them. Players from TikTok don't count toward Home's ranking; only players Home sent do. TikTok gets your game played and talked about; your first minutes decide whether Home takes over: how Home picks games.
How often to post
There's no published number. What developers report: clips at a few hundred views bring no measurable players, so it takes many posts for one to reach the hundreds of thousands of views that do. Post on a steady rhythm, every clip a different moment, and time some to your updates and events: Home traffic usually peaks on Saturdays.
Post the same clips on YouTube Shorts too: YouTube carried 85% of Roblox viewing in 2025, more than developers' focus on TikTok suggests.
Other people's clips count most
In the breakout games of 2024 to 2026, most of the push from outside Roblox came from other people: memes, fans' clips, YouTubers and streamers. Small Roblox creators in your genre are worth asking. A paid post has to say so with TikTok's content disclosure setting.
Making the clips: your options
| Option | What it does | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| A screen recorder | OBS Studio on a computer, or your phone's own recorder | Free |
| CapCut | Crops to vertical, adds captions, zooms and sounds | Free version |
| A freelance editor | Edits the clips for you | An advanced Roblox edit from $20 on Fiverr; shorts editing $27.50 at the median |
| AI video generators | Make Roblox-style videos from a script, without your game in them | Varies |
| ClipClip (ours) | Turns a few minutes of your own gameplay into vertical clips with a hook, captions and your game's name | 4 clips a month free; Pro $19 a month |
We make ClipClip, so weigh that line accordingly. Whatever you use, the clips have to show your real game: viewers who join and find something else leave in the first minute, and that counts against you on Home.
Questions
Do TikTok views turn into Roblox players?
Only at scale. Developers report clips at a few hundred views bringing no one, and no public case shows a small game's own clips lifting it. A clip with hundreds of thousands of views can send a burst of players, and it lasts only if your game keeps them long enough for Roblox's Home to take over.
Do I need a trending song on my Roblox TikTok?
No. On 19 October 2026, all 30 of the most-viewed #robloxgames TikToks used an original sound, the game's own audio or the creator's, rather than a song picked from TikTok's library.
Can players under 16 join my game from TikTok?
Not at first. A game Roblox hasn't evaluated yet is open only to age-checked players 16 and over. It opens to younger players once it has plays from 250 highly engaged players and you've completed Roblox's checks.
Should I pay TikTok creators to post my game?
It can work: in the breakout games of 2024 to 2026, most of the push from outside Roblox came from other people's videos. A paid post has to be disclosed with TikTok's content disclosure setting.
