How to use Roblox Ads Manager, step by step
Updated 6 November 2026 · By ClipClip
The short answer
Go to create.roblox.com/advertise, click Start creating, add a card or ad credits, then Create Campaign: pick your game, a goal (Plays for a new game), an audience, a budget and up to 10 thumbnails, and publish. Roblox reviews it within about 24 hours, then it learns for a day: change nothing during that day.
Before your first campaign
- You need a Roblox account 13 or older with a verified email.
- Pay by card (18 and over, in US dollars) or with ad credits bought with Robux (263 Robux each). Prices: how much a Roblox ad credit is.
- A new game is open to age-checked players 16+ only, and so are its ads, until it reaches all ages (how).
- Ads for a game that closely copies another can spend nothing and bring no one, Roblox warns: an original game, name and thumbnail come first.
Step 1: your ad account
- Open the Ads Manager at create.roblox.com/advertise and click Start creating, then Create campaign.
- Pick your account's time zone, read Roblox's advertising terms and save.
- Billing & payments, Payment settings, Add Payment Method: a card, or the Robux Ad Credit tab to buy credits.
Step 2: the campaign
In Manage Ads, click Create Campaign:
- Experience: your game and a name for the campaign. Advanced options can send players to a chosen place, with launch data your game reads to greet them.
- Goal: Plays, Engagement, or Earnings (still limited).
- Audience: All, New, Recent or Lapsed Players, and, if you want, advanced targeting by location, age, gender, genre and device.
- Budget & Duration: a daily or lifetime budget, the payment method, a start date and time, a duration. With ad credits, auto-reload can top the campaign up when it runs out.
- Creatives: up to 10 thumbnails, your own, or three that Roblox's AI makes from a description.
- Publish and confirm. It goes live once Roblox's moderation approves it.
Your ads show as sponsored tiles on Home and in search. On Home, the sponsored tile and your game's own tile can both appear, apart.
Which goal and audience
| Goal | Reaches |
|---|---|
| Plays | The most players for your game |
| Engagement | Highly engaged players, the kind a new game needs 250 of to reach under-16s; a higher cost per play |
| Earnings (limited) | Players most likely to spend in your game; reports a return on ad spend |
| Audience | Who | Available |
|---|---|---|
| All Players | Everyone, whatever they played before | Always |
| New Players | Never played, or not for 180+ days | Always |
| Recent Players | Played in the last 30 days | From 10,000 recent players |
| Lapsed Players | Played 30 to 180 days ago | From 20,000 lapsed players |
Narrow targeting can make ads more expensive, Roblox's staff say: run one campaign with targeting and one without, side by side, on a small daily budget for 3 to 7 days, and compare.
What each status means
| Status | What's happening |
|---|---|
| In Review | Waiting for moderation, within 24 hours |
| Learning | Its first 24 hours: Roblox is learning who responds |
| Active | Running as expected |
| Scheduled | Starts on a later date |
| Rejected | Failed moderation |
| Moderated | Stopped by moderation, with the reason |
| Auto-Completed | Stopped by Roblox after a period of time |
| Completed | Reached its goal or end date |
When it doesn't work
- No plays yet? Plays and earnings take up to 48 hours to show; impressions and clicks show at once.
- It reset? Pausing during Learning starts it over. Give a campaign at least a day.
- Rejected? Remove anything against Roblox's rules (a phone number, anything sending players off Roblox) and appeal the image in the Asset library.
- Can't pick Recent or Lapsed Players? They open only from 10,000 recent or 20,000 lapsed players.
- Not enough credits? A campaign paid with ad credits can't budget more than your balance.
- Want to change it? You can change the name, the budget amount, the schedule and the thumbnails; the goal, the audience and the budget type are fixed. A campaign can be cancelled up to 6 hours before it starts.
Reading the results
- Spent, impressions, clicks, plays, playtime, earnings and the cost per play, per campaign and per thumbnail, in Manage Ads.
- A player who first joins from an ad counts for it for 30 days; one who comes back after 7 days away, for 7 or 30 days; one who played in the last week, for that session only.
- Judge the game, not just the ad: do these players stay? Across 21 campaigns measured against control groups, Roblox found a median 14% more play sessions and 10% more players still playing after a week (October 2026).
Once ClipClip opens, Snip can run them for you: it creates, budgets and pauses campaigns through Roblox's own connection and tests your thumbnails in them, within a monthly limit you set, and Roblox bills you directly. Thumbnails for your ads: ClipClip's thumbnails.
Questions
What is Ads Manager on Roblox?
Roblox's own tool to advertise your game: sponsored tiles on Home and in search results. You pick a goal, an audience, a budget and up to 10 thumbnails, and Roblox's auto-bidding spends the budget.
Why is my Roblox ad still in review?
Every campaign is checked by Roblox's moderation first, which Roblox tries to finish within 24 hours. It goes live once approved, or shows Rejected.
What does Learning mean in Roblox Ads Manager?
The first 24 hours or so of a campaign, while Roblox finds out who responds to it. Pausing during it resets the clock, so give a campaign at least a day before changing it.
Why was my Roblox ad rejected?
It broke Roblox's advertising or community rules, such as a phone number or anything sending players off Roblox. A rejected image can be appealed from the Asset library.
Do Roblox ads help my game rank?
No. Roblox says running ads doesn't change how your game ranks in Recommended For You. They bring players sooner, and those players decide whether they stay.
How many ad credits is 10k Robux?
38 ad credits, at 263 Robux each.
