How to find your Roblox game ID
Updated 4 November 2026 · By ClipClip
The short answer
The number in your game's link is its place ID: in roblox.com/games/920587237/Adopt-Me, it's 920587237. The universe ID, the whole game's, is in the Creator Hub: hover your game, click ⋯, then Copy Universe ID.
Place ID vs universe ID
A Roblox game is a universe holding one or more places, the start place being where players arrive. Each place has its own place ID; the universe ID names the game. Both stay unique even when the game has a single place.
| Place ID | Universe ID | |
|---|---|---|
| Names | One place (the link shows the start place) | The whole game |
| In the link | Yes: roblox.com/games/920587237/… | No |
| In scripts | game.PlaceId | game.GameId |
| Example (Adopt Me!) | 920587237 | 383310974 |
Where to find yours
- The game's link. Open your game on roblox.com: the number after /games/ is the start place ID. In the Creator Hub, ⋯, Copy URL copies the link.
- Creator Hub, Creations. Hover the game, click ⋯: Copy Universe ID or Copy Start Place ID.
- The Creator Hub's address. Open the game: the address reads create.roblox.com/dashboard/creations/experiences/universe ID/overview.
- Every place. Configurations, Server management lists each place with its place ID.
- Studio. print(game.PlaceId, game.GameId) in the command bar.
Turn a place ID into a universe ID
Open this address in a browser, with the place ID in it: apis.roblox.com/universes/v1/places/place ID/universe. Roblox answers with the universe ID: for Adopt Me!, {"universeId":383310974}. It works for other people's games too.
Which one you need
- Universe ID: Roblox Support (bug reports, genre appeals) and Roblox's Open Cloud APIs.
- Place ID: teleporting players between places, and publishing one place through the API (which takes both).
- Neither: a pass or developer product has its own ID, from its ⋯, Copy Asset ID (passes vs developer products).
Questions
Is the game ID the same as the place ID?
Not quite. The number in a game's link is the place ID of its start place. Roblox's scripts call the whole game's ID GameId, which is the universe ID. People say game ID for either, so check which one a tool asks for.
How do I find my Roblox game ID on mobile?
Open the game's page at roblox.com in your phone's browser: the number after /games/ in the address is the place ID. In the Roblox app, the game's ⋯ menu, then Share, gives you its link.
How do I find my game ID in Roblox Studio?
In Studio's command bar, run print(game.PlaceId, game.GameId): the first is the place ID, the second the universe ID. An unpublished place shows its template's ID.
Does the ID change if I rename or transfer my game?
No. A game's IDs never change, and a game transferred to a group keeps its game ID, place ID and link.
How do I find another game's ID?
From its link: the number after roblox.com/games/ is its place ID. Its universe ID comes from Roblox's API, below.
