How to transfer your Roblox game to a group
Updated 4 November 2026 · By ClipClip
The short answer
In the Creator Hub, open your game, then Publish settings, Game details, and click Transfer Experience. Pick a group you can publish to and type the game's name to confirm. Once the group accepts, the game goes offline for a few minutes: release it again afterwards.
Before you transfer
- Verify your email address. Whoever accepts for the group needs a verified one too.
- Move your private ModuleScripts and the assets your game loads with InsertService to the group. Packages owned by you, not a group, may have to be rebuilt or replaced with group-owned ones.
- Using Open Cloud API keys? If the transfer changes the key owner's access, make new keys with an account that has it.
- No group yet? In the Creator Hub, open the account switcher at the top left and click +. A group costs 100 Robux.
Transfer it
- Creator Hub, Creations, your game, then Publish settings, Game details.
- Click Transfer Experience, read what the transfer does, and click Next.
- Pick the group. You need permission to publish games to it.
- Type the game's name to confirm, then start the transfer. You can cancel it until the group accepts.
Accept it (for the group)
- Open the game's page from the transfer notification, or from the link the owner sends.
- Read the transfer details, click Next, type the game's name and click Accept transfer.
- When it's done, set the group's permissions for the game and release it to the public again.
What changes
- Offline for a moment. On acceptance Roblox closes every server and makes the game private until you release it again.
- Search and Home. Search isn't affected if the title stays the same, the group isn't moderated and you release the game again. Discovery can dip for up to 24 hours after.
- The same IDs and link. Game ID, place ID and address stay (your game's IDs).
- Money. Card details on the game are removed. The group earns from existing private server subscriptions, outside any revenue split; new ones follow the splits.
- 30 days. A game a group just received can't be transferred again for 30 days.
Why a group
A group gives each member a role with its own permissions (edit, publish, analytics, ads), splits revenue by percentage and pays members out. Roblox can't settle arguments inside a group, so agree on the shares in writing first. What the Robux are worth in dollars: Roblox DevEx.
Questions
How do I put my Roblox game in a group?
Transfer it: in the Creator Hub, your game's Publish settings, Game details, then Transfer Experience. Pick a group you can publish to, type the game's name to confirm, and the group accepts from the game's page.
Can I transfer a Roblox game to another account?
Roblox's documented transfer goes to a group. To share a game with another person, move it into a group and give them a role with the permissions they need.
Do I lose my players or my game's link?
No. The game keeps its game ID, place ID and link. It goes offline during the transfer, and you release it again after.
How long does a transfer take?
Usually a few minutes once the group accepts, longer for complex games. A request the group doesn't accept expires after 7 days.
How much does it cost to make a Roblox group?
100 Robux, from the Creator Hub's account switcher (the + button).
